  • Thorough knowledge of office practices and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of recordkeeping, filing, letter writing, taking meeting minutes, and professional communication procedures.
  • Ability to work independently to organize workload, maximize efficiency, and meet multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals, psychiatric patients, and their families.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive material.
  • Proficiency with standard office equipment and common software, including Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Access.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience performing a variety of office support or clerical support.
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute net with a minimum of 80% accuracy.
  • Ability to pass a skills-based Microsoft Excel test with a minimum score of 80%.
Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Medical Director and Medical Services at Montana State Hospital.
  • Provide scheduling and logistical oversight for patient hearings and provider meetings.

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to respond to stressful situations in a manner that helps the other individual de-escalate.
  • Experience with advanced Microsoft Word and Excel functions or other data management software.
